VASHTI ANNA
At the age of 6 Vashti was putting on her own shows in the family hotel in Bungay, Suffolk. The rest of the time she was mainly trying to keep up with her brother Charlie and the boys on her Skeleton skateboard and attempting to break dance, but prefering the Dirty Dancing approach. At 8 she fell in love with a boy who was in love with Madonna - and there she found her life long role model as well as a love of pop music.
Learning to play piano in a cowshed was where the songs began. Brother Tom handed her an Ella Fitzgerald tape a few years on which she listened to religioulsy and a love of jazz formed.
As Vashti turned in to a young lady she packed her bags and headed to London for music, variety and fun! Papa G handed her a guitar on her 20th birthday, and with good friend Jamie Lawson sleeping on her bedroom floor for 6 months - she learned a couple of things to get her started.
Singing her way around the city, down the underground and across the UK, Ireland and France with her brother's and good friend Beth Rowley she now has three albums to her name.
As for the band..... Vashti met beautiful Queen of the Underground Hadar Manor down the tunnells and an instant bond was formed, she borrowed Double bass player extrodinaire Tom Fry from the Tom Baxter band, then fabulous cellist Danny Keane Mr Roy Dodds adds his magical percussive touch to the mix and together they all record songs at his "Kitchen Floor Studios"
Vashti is happy. Her favourite things are -making music, sitting in her back garden, watering her tomatoes, being with family and friends, eating lovely food, walking in the countryside and day dreaming.
