“Look closely you will see the man generate sparks of magic” - The List
The crown prince of Newcastle is one of the most sought after comics and compares in the UK and has been performing stand-up comedy since 1989.
Over the last few years he has performed at festivals all over the globe, garnering a cult following in Australia where they empathise with his strange Geordie accent and criminal tendencies.
You may recognise him (although not with the aid of the accompanying picture) from shows such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks and 8 Out of 10 Cats. The well travelled amongst you have probably also seen him perform in the Middle East, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Johannesburg, Sydney, New York, Amsterdam and the Arctic.
As well as being a regular improviser with the Comedy Store Players, Dave is also a successful scriptwriter. He co-wrote the stage adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption, which opened on the 19th May 2009 for a six week run at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin.
