We begin 2011 at the Glee Club with a healthy dose of tour shows to whet your appetite for our first full year of comedy action in Nottingham.
Recent star of Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow (and many other radio/telly programmes) Zoe Lyons joins us on 03 Feb with her full show 'Clowbusting', followed soon after with some surreal wordy brilliance from Milton Jones on 10 Feb - selling fast so book now to avoid disappointment. Glee-favourite Jon Richardson brings his new show 'Funny Magnet' to Nottingham on 17 Feb, featuring the best bits from his critically acclaimed sell-out Edinburgh show ‘Don’t Happy, Be Worry’ plus some brand new material.
One definite upcoming highlight for us is Mark Steel. The veteran commentator still packs a weighty punch and is certainly one not to be missed on 03 March. Later in the year we look forward to welcoming a couple of comedy up-and-comers - award-winning Andi Osho will be delighting with her show 'Afroblighty' on 14 April and you can look forward to some super-high energy brilliance on 20 April with the Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated 'An Audience with Imran Yusuf'.
Keep your eyes peeled for something a little bit different at the Glee in the New Year too. Locals MissImp perform live improv comedy at its very best on the second Wednesday of every month, we'll be hosting the Magners Funhouse gong show competition 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go?' on a bi-monthly basis from January onwards and cabaret meets life drawing on 12 Feb when we welcome alt.drawing phenomenon Dr Sketchy's Anti Art School.
On top of all this we'll be consistently bringing the finest live comics to Nottingham - no fillers - every Friday and Saturday for The Best In Live Stand-up Comedy.
