Greg Burns

After a lifelong interest in comedy, Greg finally realised he wanted to be on the stage rather than looking at it when, aged 18, he wandered into his first comedy club in Camden, North London. “Until then I had only seen stand up on TV or in large theatres being performed by household names. Then I found myself in this room watching these amazing comics who I’d never heard of, although I was pretty sure would become big. One name I can remember making an effort to remember because watching him was the defining moment. When he came on I just thought that’s it, I’ve got to learn how to do this, how to draw a room of complete strangers into your world and hold them in your palm. He was Alan Davies”. After five more years of watching and learning Greg finally walked on stage for the first time in 1998. After just five gigs, all on the Northern circuit, he found himself in the final of the National Comedy Store Hooch Open Mic Awards at the world famous Comedy Store. Greg completed a successful season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2000 as part of the Screaming Blue Murder Big Value Comedy Show.
