Desi Central is back with another amazing line-up and night of nothing but laughter with Noreen Khan, Hyde Panaser, Eshaan Akbar & Nabil AbdulRashid.
Noreen Khan is a hugely popular radio and TV presenter. She currently presents her show on BBC Asian Network weekdays from 1:30-5pm and listening figures regularly prove she has the most listened to Asian radio show in the UK.
Her warm and natural presenting style has made her an instant hit with the audience and she is also one of the most sought after comperes to host high profile events up and down the country.
Hyde Panaser is founder of Humili-Asian, which offers a platform for comedy acts who want to test a stage of all levels. When it comes to comedy he considers everyone a target, his observational storytelling style takes you on a journey of numerous subjects to dealing with the different cultures he comes across living a multicultural lifestyle – at home with his parents! Hyde is in the process of writing his debut show “99 Problems But My Beard Ain’t One” in which he looks at the social perceptions towards someone who looks like him.
Since starting comedy in March 2014, Eshaan Akbar has established himself as an act with exciting potential.
A winner of the Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year 2016, Eshaan has been in the finals of other prestigious competitions, including So You Think You’re Funny 2014 and Laughing Horse 2014. He performs across the UK and has performed in Germany and Bangladesh. In 2016, he supported Dane Baptiste on his UK tour and did warm up work for “Micky Flanagan and Friends”.
His professional career has taken him from private banking through to corporate communications via a career in local government public policy. He has previously written for The Guardian, The Times online, The Observer New Review and The Huffington Post UK. He is a member of the UK Speechwriters Guild and Fellow of the RSA.
Born and raised in East London, he is a Manchester United fan (obviously) and has torn cricketing allegiances – he fails the Tebbit test every time. He has previously dabbled in Bollywood and salsa dance choreography.
Probably a name it took you a while to remember but a comedian/person and speaker you’ll never forget. Nabil has been a professional stand up comic for over six years and has appeared on ITV, BBC2, Channel 4, Channel AKA, London Live, 5 Live, The Islam Channel, British Muslim TV & much more.
He’s toured the UK and abroad as a stand up comedian, Holland to Tanzania as well as a motivational speaker and has had over a million views on YouTube from his social commentary.
As a humanitarian Nabil has helped raise money for orphanages, schools, wells and other charitable projects in Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Palestine, Iraq as well as his family charitable project in Nigeria. Nabil has also cofounded a non for profit organisation in the U.K. Which provides shelter and housing for vulnerable young people and victims of domestic violence.
Despite all of this he is proudest of being a father, husband, marvel and dc fan (yes he can’t decide between the two) and all around stand-up guy.
