The Solo Collective features performances from German classical/experimental musicians and composers Anne Müller (cello) and Alex Stolze (violin), with British pianist / producer Sebastian Reynolds. The evening will have solo performances by Anne and Alex, and a trio performance of Sebastian’s music. References include the electro-acoustic piano music of Brian Eno, the counterpoint music of Steve Reich, modern classical electronica innovators Murcof and the experimental composition of Arvo Pärt. The trio will release a record via Nonostar Records.
Anne Müller is an acclaimed cellist. Born in Berlin, she studied classical performance at the famed ‘Hanns Eisler’ Academy and completed her Masters degree at the Frankfurt University of Music. Anne is a frequent contributor to neo-classical label Erased Tapes, including with German Pianist Nils Frahm (7fingers and Music for the Motion Picture Victoria). She has worked and toured with Danish singer/pianist Agnes Obel and recently collaborated with Markus Sieber on his Aukai album.
Alex Stolze is a German violinist, composer and producer touring his Mankind Animal album, following his work with electronica acts Bodi Bill and Unmap, and experimental avant jazz trio Dictaphone, Performing with his custom-made five-string electro-acoustic violin, Alex is a pioneering figure in the field of modern classical/post-pop musical explorations
Sebastian Reynolds is a producer, sound artist and multi instrumentalist from Oxford, soon to launch his debut solo albums Remembrance/Epiphany. The Solo Collective performance will see the ensemble explore and reimagine Reynolds’ hauntingly atmospheric, mostly piano led electronic ambient sound worlds
