It was early 2019 and I needed a title for my Autumn 2019 Tour. Given the massive Brexit Divide and comedy’s supposed medicinal abilities, I liked the mock arrogance of ‘HEALING THE NATION’. The show was written. Then BORIS JOHNSON replaced Theresa May as PM. The show was REWRITTEN. Then the 2019 GENERAL ELECTION was announced. The show was REWRITTEN again. Then COVID-19 arrived – and the show had to be completely REWRITTEN once more. The 2019/2020 TOUR has become the 2019/2020/2021 TOUR, and as the ‘Healing The Nation’ Tour has gone on, there’s been less and less healing and more and more of the opposite. Admittedly, I could have changed the title – but some of the gigs have been rescheduled and it would prove confusing to existing ticketholders if the ticket said “HEALING THE NATION” but the show was now called “MY LIFE IN BALLET”.

So we have the serially rewritten HEALING THE NATION TOUR 2019/2020 now EXTENDED INTO 2021 not so much due to POPULAR DEMAND, more lack of OPEN VENUES. And with NEGATIVE POWERS OF HEALING. Yet this latest, very new version of the show is my FAVOURITE so far.
