G2 Definitive Genesis pays tribute to a vintage period in Genesis’ long and colourful history, the four-man “Seconds Out” era (1975-78), whilst also dipping back into the Gabriel years. It’s the mid/late seventies; Peter Gabriel had just departed to be replaced by ‘singing’ drummer Phil Collins.
Rather than being doomed to failure, the four man era of Hackett, Banks, Rutherford and Collins lifted the band’s fame to even greater heights with the studio albums ‘Trick Of The Tail’ and ‘Wind and Wuthering’. Successive world tours culminating in three sold out nights at London’s Earls Court and the subsequent release of the live album ‘Seconds Out’ put Genesis into the super-group category. Having been performing classic Genesis for over a decade and a half, G2 are making their first visit to The Glee in Nottingham.
Dance On A Volcano, Ripples, Entangled, Los Endos, Blood On The Rooftops, One For The Vine, Afterglow, mixed up with the classics of the Gabriel years, Firth Of Fifth, Cinema Show, I Know What I Like and the infamous Suppers Ready, this is vintage Genesis, performed by G2 to a level Genesis themselves would be proud of! Well, Steve Hackett says he likes it … So take a little trip back and relive those wonderful moments of your Genesis musical history with G2.
“Best Performance by ANY Tribute Band (not just Genesis ones) I have ever seen...”
“Thanks to G2 who were out of this world, I really cannot describe how terrifyingly good you guys are.”
