We present our Birmingham Christmas Comedy Shows. For over 20 years we have been entertaining groups large and small in our award-winning venues, so this year book The Glee Club for a Christmas party to remember!

Birmingham Christmas Comedy Specials at The Glee Club offer you a superb atmosphere with four top stand-up comedians and an after party to keep celebrations going into the night.

We offer a delicious festive menu with 1, 2 or 3 course options. Vegan & gluten-free options available. Please email for specific allergens.

Calls cost 13p per minute plus your phone company's access charge.

For Box Office opening hours, please see our contact page for details.

Below are a collection of the most common FAQs, so please take a look here first!

Our Shows Explained

A whole night of comedy, festive food and Christmas cheer. You will see a brilliant selection of comedians, you will have allocated seats & tables, and the option of a one, two or three course festive meal. After the show our resident DJ will kick off our after party which will keep you dancing into the night!

In addition to our Christmas Comedy Specials which take place in our Main Room, we also have a handful of Christmas Comedy Early Shows, and Christmas Comedy Late Shows. These take place in our Studio Room which seats 150 people, has its own bar and a wonderfully intimate atmosphere. There is no food available in our Studio Room, but we do have snacks! The seating for these shows is unallocated, so you will need to arrive in your whole group in order to sit together.

Doors for the Early Show open at 5.30pm (take your seats by 5.45pm), and the show finishes at approximately 8pm. Doors for the Late Show open at 8.45pm (take your seats by 9pm), and show finishes at approximately 11.30pm. Late Show customers are welcome to join our afterparty after their show if they wish.

As with all of our shows, you can book immediately with a debit or credit card, with us taking full payment.

If you need to pay by an alternative method, or for enquiries into large group deposit payments, please contact our team on 0871 472 0400 or email

Please be aware, all bookings are non-refundable as per the terms of booking. If the number in your party changes once paid for, please contact the team who can advise.

We are a ticketless venue, it's less hassle for you, and saves a few trees. Once you have booked you will receive an email confirmation of your booking. This is for your own records, there's no need to print it, but do read it through and make a note of the booking reference number (beginning with GL). Upon arriving at the club, we need the name your party is booked under, this will gain you entry. If you are the organiser of the party, please ensure all members of the group have the booking reference number and party name to give at the door.

You can login to the MYGLEE section of the website at any time, to take a look at any current bookings you have with us. You can also amend your booking here.

The Glee Club is a great night out, whether you are a solo comedy fan, a couple on the tiles or a group of 50. The capacity is the limit! However, Christmas is our busiest time of year, so we recommend booking well in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you are a large group and you encounter a limit whilst trying to book online, please contact our team who can advise on options. Call 0871 472 0400 or email

As long as we still have ticket availability for the show you require, then yes. Get in touch and we’ll take you through it, or go ahead and book those online, by logging in and adding to your original booking. As with all bookings we highly recommend doing this as soon as is possible to avoid any disappointment.

Not unless you're feeling generous! We take lots of group bookings, and we want you all to be able to sit together and have things sorted before you visit.

With advance bookings, we do require full payment however, many customers like to make an initial booking ie, their ticket, and then get their pals to call and add on to their booking (with the pal paying for their own ticket). For this, you will need to let everyone know the name you booked under, so they can be linked to your group.

Alternatively, if everyone books separately, you can give us a call or an email with all the names, and we will link these together for you, to make sure you are all seated together. This needs to be done no later than 3pm on the day of the show.

And finally, if you have collected in the money for your group, no problem, just call us/go online and have your card handy to pay for the whole group.

As always with group bookings, we recommend you do this with enough time in advance to get you all booked in. If you are booking for the with food option, please be aware we will need all food orders no later than 2 weeks prior to your show.

Sorry no. If you have any drop-outs, please get in touch with the box office and we’ll see what we can do for you.

Delicious food! We have a very tasty festive menu on offer for you this Christmas, with the option of one, two or three courses.

In order to be served food at our Christmas Comedy Specials (in our Main Room), you will need to book a ticket + food option in advance. With our kitchens extremely busy at this time of year, we are unable to take food orders on the night.

We are unable to serve food at our Early Shows and Late Shows in our Studio Room, though we do have bar snacks including crisps, fresh popcorn and locally-made pork scratchings.

Our festive menu contains gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and halal options - see menu.

For a full list of allergens contained within our Christmas food menu, please click here.

If you would like to discuss anything further, please email, or call us on 0871 472 0400.

We will need to know what you want for your main course only. Starters are served as a sharing platter to your table and dessert can be picked from the Grotto on the night.

Food for our Christmas shows must be ordered a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. You can do this as soon as you’ve made your booking by logging into or by emailing the Box Office on

If you need to make any alterations to your choices, you can do this up until 2 weeks prior to your show.

If in any doubt about anything, don't hesitate to contact our friendly box office team! 0871 472 0400 /

Not if you don’t want to, but we think you should - it’s very tasty! If you wish to book comedy tickets only for a Christmas Comedy Special in the Main Room, you may of course do so. Your ticket still includes entry to the afterparty, allocated seating, the option to pre-order drinks and we'll even throw in a cracker.

We also offer Early Shows and Late Shows in our more intimate Studio Room, where no food is served and seating is unallocated. This is purely a comedy show (with bar of course), so this may suit you better if you're not there for the food. See show listings for details.

Certainly! You can do this yourself online through MY GLEE once your booking is in.

We also have drinks packages to make life that little bit easier - see details here.

Please note we can’t take pre-orders for drinks at Early or Late Shows in our Studio Room.

What about a bar tab?

We recommend taking advantage of one of the packages, or pre-ordering your own drinks online for ease, but if you prefer a tab, no problem!

We are happy to set up a pre-paid bar tab for you via invoice ahead of your visit. If you wish to do this, please contact the team on 0871 472 0400 or

You can also set up a bar tab on the night of the show with a credit/debit card (we can’t accept American Express unfortunately), with optional limits. To do this, simply ask for the bar manager who will create and manage the tab for you.

We will do our best to help and accommodate your needs in a respectful and if required, confidential manner.

Please see our accessibility page for full details.

Arriving during the entry time window assigned to you, and printed on your confirmation is a condition of booking. If you arrive after this time, entry is at the discretion of the management who will do all they can to accommodate you.

In this circumstance you may lose your original seat allocation, and may be offered alternative seating or standing room elsewhere in the venue. If you don't make it before the show begins you will be asked to wait until the first possible opportunity of getting you in without disturbing the show.

If you have booked a ticket with food please note:
There is a window of time to serve you and all of our customers before the show starts. We therefore cannot stress enough how important it is that you and your whole party arrive in good time to take your seats at the time the party was allocated when booking.

Whereas we always aim to be as accommodating as possible, arriving late or arriving with many missing from your party at our busiest time of year will unfortunately compromise your food service.

We ask and thank you in advance for arriving in good time - if we all stick to the script, a marvellous night will be had!

Our ticket & enquiry lines are open up until doors opening (7pm), so if in doubt, give us a call - 0871 472 0400.

We always recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment, as many of our shows sell out. We may have some entry only tickets to sell on the door (we can't sell food inclusive tickets on the door), if you are prepared to make the journey to find out, please arrive and enquire at the Glee Bar. To find out if it is likely, see our show listings or call the box office on 0871 472 0400.

Paying on the door to join another party that has pre-booked:
We will do our best to accommodate you, but we can not guarantee you’ll get a seat with your pals if you’ve left it to the last. The majority of our seating is theatre style in rows and we only allocate the exact number of seats sold to a party in one group.

Where the show has not sold out, providing you turn up early enough we can usually sell you a ticket. However unless someone doesn't show up in a neighbouring party it’s pretty difficult to accommodate you with the rest of the group, so be prepared to sit separately.

If you are seeing a show in our Main Room, this auditorium is set out with tables in front of each row of seats. These rows extend backwards from the stage in a theatre style. Your group will be allocated seats and tables together which are yours for the evening. Our lovely floor staff will show you to these seats when you arrive.

If you are attending a show in our Studio Room, seating is always unreserved so we suggest you arrive early if you want to be sat in a specific place or with a group of friends. Although there will be enough seats for the amount of attendees, they are taken on a first come basis.

All Christmas comedy shows are strictly 18+.

Our venue is obliged by local licensing to enforce a 'Challenge 25' policy, which means anyone who looks under 25 may be asked for ID.

Accepted forms of ID:

Passport / photo driving licence (provisional accepted) / Card with official PASS hologram & DOB

Any customers who cannot provide government issued ID to prove they are 18 or over when requested to do so will not be permitted entry to the venue, and no refunds will be given.

Please call the box office on 0871 472 0400 or email if you are uncertain of our policy. Refunds will not be issued for incorrectly booked tickets.

23 May 2017 - As venue operators, the tragedy in Manchester struck particularly close to our heart. To all those affected, we send our thoughts, condolences and a great deal of love. It goes without saying that the ongoing safety of our customers, staff and performers is of absolute paramount importance. So if you’re visiting one of our venues, please take a moment to read the below information.

Our management and security teams regularly review procedure and protocol with all staff. As with every live event, all arrangements are in a continuous state of flux. There are lots of things that go on behind the scenes, so please be patient if things take a little longer than you’re used to.

Your visit
Our venues are monitored by CCTV at all times, but please can we ask for your help by arriving in good time, as we carry out security searches on entry.

Travel light
Please plan ahead and do your best to travel as lightly as possible. As well as cloakroom facilities being limited, searches are in place, and we really don’t want to slow you down getting in. So if you really, really need to bring a bag, please make sure that it’s small (less than laptop size or a small handbag).

Large bags (rucksacks / holdalls/ suitcases ) are not allowed in the auditorium, because:
A) They take to long to search properly, holding up entry for every one.
B) There is just no room for them in the auditoriums, most of our events have theatre style seating in rows.

Leaving these sort of items on the floor and aisles in a dimly lit auditorium would cause significant trip hazards for customers and staff, and in the event of an evacuation of the building could cause unnecessary casualties. If you bring them they must be deposited in our free cloakroom.

Parties found bringing in food and drink without prior arrangement, or any dangerous or illegal weapons / substances onto our premises will be denied entry without refund, and the parties details passed on to the authorities.

Speak to us
If at any time you see or hear anything untoward, please speak to a member of our team – we’re here to help.

Join us, be merry, have a great time, but we are a licensed venue - which means we cannot legally permit entry, or serve alcohol, to anyone who has clearly stayed in the pub too long after work.

Customers who arrive already intoxicated will not be permitted entry and no refund offered. Any member of your party found in possession of or found using any prohibited drugs will be asked to leave. We reserve the right to conduct bag and body searches and also to pass any relevant information to police.

Christmas Comedy Specials (Main Room)

Our downstairs bar is open from 5:30 pm (Fri & Sat) and 6pm (Wed, Thu & Sun) for every Christmas Comedy Special, please join us for a quick drink before taking your seats.

You will have been assigned an arrival time slot upon booking, it is essential that all members of your party arrive in good time to ensure a smooth start to the festive celebrations!

Your tables are reserved and our friendly staff will show your party to the seats at the time you were assigned when booking.

If you have pre-ordered your drinks they will be waiting for you on your table.

For those who choose the three course option the sharing platters will be on the tables upon arrival. Those who choose the one or two course option will be served shortly after the whole party take their seats.

If you have tickets only, you can check in to the main auditorium between 7.30 - 8.15pm.

The bar within the auditorium will be open from the beginning of your evening until the show starts and re-open during intervals.

The show will be in three sections, the MC will introduce each act and each section will last around 30 minutes. There will be two intervals of 20 minutes. Shows will finish at approximately 11.00pm, when your afterparty will commence! There will be a DJ in the bar, playing classics into the small hours.

Early Comedy Shows & Late Shows  (Studio Room)

Seating in the studio is unallocated. If you want to sit together please arrive early and check-in as a party. The bar will stay open until the show starts, and re-open at intervals.

The show will be in three sections, the MC will introduce each act and each section will last about 30 minutes. There will be two intervals of about 15-20 minutes. Shows last just over 2 hours (approximate). Late Show customers are welcome to join our afterparty if they wish!

We want all of our customers to have the best night possible, which means amongst the Christmas cheer, we need everyone to play by the rules to ensure a magical time.

All customers regardless of age, gender or perceived status are expected to treat the venue, staff, acts and fellow customers with due respect and good manners. This extends to talking during the show, which we consider to be rude and disrespectful to nearby customers as well as the acts performing.

Our security staff will intervene and give warnings to anyone disrupting others' enjoyment of the night, if bad behaviour persists, some or all of the party will be asked to leave.

Any customers demonstrating aggressive or intimidating behaviour will be ejected immediately.

Recording or photographing the comics or artists is not permitted and may result in the confiscation of the recording device and deletion of material/images.

No, wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Some clothes are advised. Some people like to dress up, others go for casual attire. All styles are welcome at The Glee.

If you want to wear fancy dress, go for it, we don't have a problem with you looking a bit silly. However, you will be asked to remove anything that gets in the way of other customers' enjoyment of the show (eg, massive hats, flashing lights, noisy items).

We have a limited amount of cloakroom space in each venue. Please enquire with the staff on the night.

The biggest reason is, we want you and everyone in the room to be able to enjoy the show, undisturbed. We've all scowled at someone in the cinema who's phone goes off at a crucial moment, it's the same for a live show.

We require you to turn it off completely, or set it to silent and put it away.

Other reasons:

  • We can't tell if customers are recording the show unless phones are turned off and put away, it's illegal to film a show, it is piracy.
  • Every time you check your phone or go to text, the phone screen lights up like a christmas tree and so does your face! This is distracting to the acts and those around and behind you.

This only applies during the show, you have plenty of time before, during intervals, and after the show to check & use your phone. If you need to use your phone whilst the show is on, please simply leave the auditorium to do so.

Go on then, it’s Christmas after all! Our after party is primarily for comedy customers, but we don’t mind if Karen from the office wants to pop along to join in with your company’s Christmas celebrations.

All we ask is that you provide us with these names ahead of your visit so we can put them on an entry list for our security staff.

As ever, we’ll need to see ID if they are lucky enough to look under 25!

If you have a complaint about food, drink or anything that is disrupting your experience, please query this with the staff on the night. If we know what's happening at the time, we will do all we can to quickly rectify this for you, and allow you to continue enjoying the evening.

If you would like to make a formal complaint after the event, or wish to send us some feedback, we welcome you to do so. Please contact our Box Office Manager with as much detail in writing as possible.

He will make sure this complaint is passed on to the managers involved. We respond in every instance in due course, once the matter has been investigated.

All of our venues are central and have good access to accommodation and transport.

Please take a look at our location page for further practical details.

Alternatively, a quick internet search using the venue postcode will provide options. Birmingham: B5 4TD

Whilst we make every effort to keep line-ups as listed, line-ups may be subject to change. Some acts are unable to play the venue after all, for reasons outside of our control. When this happens, we always replace them as soon as is possible, with another top-notch act.

If you are planning to see one specific act in a show please contact the venue before booking and travelling to confirm the act is due to appear.

Yes. Very! We book the best acts working on the UK & International circuit. These are fully-paid professionals, who know their comedy.

If you want to see who's booked in for the night of your show, head to the listings page and click on the performer's face or name to get a full bio with videos & links.

The booking fee applies to every ticket.

We’re sorry about this. We charge a fraction of the fee that the big boys like Ticketmaster and See tickets do, and we also allow ticket transfers for most of our common shows, which none of our competitors do.

The transparency of our pricing is as important to us as it is to our customers, so we have a small and upfront booking fee that covers the cost to our business. This in turn allows us to staff our box office for all of your enquiries and ticket bookings, allows customers to book online, and to transfer tickets between shows.

All bookings are non-refundable as per the terms and conditions of booking. If the number of people in your party changes once paid for, please contact the team who can advise. 0871 472 0400 or
