Mike Carter started doing stand up in 2015 after completing a comedy course he later found out was aimed at depressed middleaged men. He was 27. He went onto place in the semi finals of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition that same year and has been a finalist in six other national competitions. He has also won the Comedy Store’s King Gong and Manchester’s Beat The Frog and is a regular at professional clubs across the U.K.
